How to Export and Import Digital Planner Lesson Plans

This video will show you how to export and import your lesson plans in your digital planner within the Portal.

Or, follow the steps below:

To export your lesson plans:

  • Click on "My Planner" within the Portal.
  • Decide which source class you want to save, or export (make sure you can view that class on the calendar).
  • On the top right hand corner, click on the three dots.
  • Click "Export Plans."
  • Choose your "Source class," or the class lesson plans you want to transfer over.
  • Check (or uncheck) any planner categories or daily planning notes.
  • Click "Export plans."
  • The software will save your plans as a ".eba-planner" file (similar to a .doc, .pdf, .png file- however, you will not be able to open this file, and that is ok- you don't need to).
  • Note what the file name is and where the file has downloaded to (most likely your "Downloads" folder on your computer).

How to now import your lesson plans:

  • First, create the class you want as your destination class, or use an existing class (under "Classes") (see THIS Support Article for instructions on how to set up a class).
  • Go back to "My Planner."
  • Click over to the view for your new class (you must be able to see your new class on the calendar).
  • Click on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner.
  • Click "Import plans."
  • Choose your "Destination class."
  • Click "Browse."
  • Choose the same ".eba-planner" file you exported previously.
  • Click "Open."
  • Ensure that you understand that importing the file will permanently delete all existing plans in the destination class and replace them with the imported plans.
  • Click "Import plans."
  • The software will import your plans.
  • Click on the destination class if you haven't already, and you should see your lesson plans!
  • Note that you may need to tweak your plans due to shifting calendar days and holidays, etc.
