Reopening, Removing, Reassigning, or Deleting Assignments

This video will walk you through the process of reopening, removing, reassigning, or deleting assignments.

Students will be able to access an assignment or assessment so long as you have set the dates to remain open when you set the assignment or assessment up.

Instructions for Reopening an Assignment for Students:

  • Choose your desired class.
  • Click on the assignment.
  • You can change the start and due dates for individual students.
  • After a student submits an assignment, their name will appear in grey.
  • Run your cursor over the student's name, and a "Reopen" checkbox will appear.
  • Check the box and click "Save."

Instructions for Removing a Student from an Assignment:

  • Choose the class in question.
  • Click on the assignment.
  • Uncheck the box next to the student's name.
  • Click "Save."

*The student will no longer have access to that assignment on their side of the Portal.

*Note that you can re-assign the assignment to make it visible to the student again.

Instructions for Deleting an Assignment:

  • Choose the class.
  • Click on the assignment.
  • In the upper right-hand corner, click on the "Trash Can" image.
  • NOTE: "Student data will be preserved, but inaccessible to you. This action cannot be undone."
  • Click "Delete."
  • The assignment no longer shows up in your class list, nor in the student-facing Portal.
